The most powerful corporate interests in history are trying to remove tenure, reduce our pensions, reduce salaries and benefits, and slash aid to publish schools, universities and health care systems. We have no way to fight back other than with the dollars we get from VOTE-COPE contributions. 

In political contributions we're outspent 15-1 by corporate interests. 

VOTE-COPE is NYSUT's non-partisan political action fund. It coordinates the voluntary contributions of members and supports NYSUT-endorsed candidates and campaign committees that are pro-education and pro-labor.  

Teacher support is needed to protect the hard-fought victories it took so long to achieve and to preserve a thriving public education system. We need money to lobby and support those legislators who support our interests in Albany. Without VOTE-COPE educators would lose every battle to the corporate interests who lobby against teachers and quality public education.
